Pascal_Victory.jpgFriday Night Fights 6/19/09 Jean Pascal won by decision, approx by a 3-4 point lead, Pascal is the NEW “WBC Light Heavy Weight Champion” of the WORLD. It was an incredible fight. Neither fighter let up for a second. Adrian Dainconu never broke his rhythm, just kept coming forward like an locomotive, and man, does he hit hard. It wasn’t enough to beat the ever so crafty Pascal. Pascal worked the body like a madman, hit jabs cut straight through like a knife. His double jab is lightening fast.

Pascal did it all, there is no catching him, his speed is unstoppable. Jean told me if he won the world title that he would be back to Irongloves to train for his next fight. Let’s hope he goes after Kelly “the Ghost” Pavlick. That would be the next best thing to Ward and Gatti.

To Coach Mark Ramsey: If you are reading this, thanks for the referral on our newest coach, Larry Largent. The guy trains like a beast. God Speed be with all of you up there in Canada. Hope to see you soon my friends.

Here is Joe and David at the fights on June 13th — David w/the shades on head :-)

Joe_DavidCrotchett1.jpg

Below is a comment that David posted on this blog, I am making it public so that every knows, it’s never too late to start up with boxing….

from David:
“I just started boxing less than a month ago and know very little about boxing, but after 30 years in law enforcement I know a lot about people. I knew the first time I talked with Joe on the phone about my membership that Joe was a leader of good moral standards whose position determines the movements of others by directly having a positive influence on the course of action of everyone that enters Irongloves Boxing.

For the last four weeks I have been training with Joe, and I got to tell you I look forward to every minute that I am in the gym, and in 57 years I have never trained as hard and it’s worth every minute of work that Joe and I put in to it.

I don’t know any of the other trainers yet and only a few of the other Irongloves members but I’m starting to feel and see the same family relationship I have in the law enforcement community, which is a bond that lasts a lifetime.

So to you Joe and Renene I pledge my allegiance and look forward to continuing a long and exciting relationship with Irongloves Boxing”.

And to you David. Thanks a million. Your words really hit our hearts.

I don’t know if this is real or an urban legend, thought I’d pass it along…

Here is the story from a couple telling of their experience:
Just last weekend on Friday night we parked in a public parking area. As we drove away I noticed a sticker on the rear window of the car. When I took it off after I got home, it was a receipt for gas. Luckily my friend told me not to stop as it could be someone waiting for me to get out of the car.
Then we received this email yesterday: ‘WARNING FROM POLICE THIS APPLIES TO BOTH WOMEN AND MEN BEWARE OF PAPER ON THE BACK WINDOW OF YOUR VEHICLE – NEW WAY TO DO CARJACKINGS (NOT A JOKE)’
Heads up everyone! Please, keep this circulating… You walk across the parking lot, unlock your car and get inside. You start the engine and shift into Reverse. When you look into the rearview mirror to back out of your parking space, you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window. You then shift into Park, unlock your doors, and jump out of your car to remove that paper (or whatever it is) that is obstructing your view. When you reach the back of your car, that is when the carjackers appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off. They practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.
And guess what, ladies? I bet your purse is still in the car. So now the carjacker has your car, your home address, your money, and your keys. Your home and your whole identity are now compromised!
BEWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED. If you see a piece of paper stuck to your back window, just drive away. Remove the paper later.. And be thankful that you read this e-mail. A purse contains all kinds of personal information and identification documents, and you certainly do NOT want this to fall into the wrong hands.

Hey gang, this is Renene. I wish to write a short story and tell you a few things about us, mainly about Joe. I sometimes do late night blogging and twittering, after Joe has gone to bed, so this post will be for him to read in the morning just like you all out there.

A bit personal first—- “A day in the life of Joe Leinhauser”—- To begin, he wakes every day at 4:00am. At 5:30am he’s off to Gold’s Gym hitting the weights. He starts work at Irongloves at 7:00am until 7:30pm. He breaks for lunch to come home and play with Kiwi and Meko. He trains anywhere from 19 to 23 people daily. Sunday is family day, we get up and walk our dogs, he then does his workout at home, then he puts me through a kettlebell workout. Afterwards we take our dogs for a ride to the smoothie shop. Then back to the office for me to do the coaches schedules for the upcoming week.

Tonight, before he went to bed, he asked me to simply write a ‘BIG Thank You’ to our members. He wanted me to say thanks to those that have stuck by us over the years, and to our newest members that give us the opportunity to give us a go. Some of you have been with us for 5, 7, 12 years, and they have been loaded with wonderful memories.

There have been many boxing facilities popping up recently, trying to simulate and/or steal what Irongloves is all about. What they seem to overlook (besides the fact we have been in business since 1992), is that Irongloves cannot be duplicated and can never be outdone. This is because, no place will ever have our type of members. It is our wonderful people and their love for our place that gives it all its personality.

We chuckle every time a new place opens, it never fails, they always try to capitalize on Joe’s hard achievements. Several of them have infiltrate there way in, and did their spying, but, they will never have what we have to make a boxing cub succeed. Most are in it only to make a fast buck. Joe has a real passion for boxing, he so enjoys what he does. He loves teaching boxing! He has practically read everything in boxing history. Just try and stump him on his boxing memorabilia.

Most of his younger life he has been boxing, from college to his Army days. And when it comes to people, this is where he shines. He treats every single person as an equal, no matter if they take a bus or drive an Escalade. Also, he will never use any person to get ahead for his own capital gains, believe me, he has had many offers over the years. In the end we will be able to say we did it all ourselves. Joe lives by a code of honor, he has true integrity, he will never lie or cheat to get ahead. He has helped so many people over the years, many people he has even found jobs for them.

One more thing for our members to know, Joe will never let Irongloves fail, no matter the economy. You are talking about an Army Veteran (served in the Gulf War), he is use to working 7 days a week, as he did for the first 15 years of our marriage. Like our website says “we aren’t going anywhere”.

To those out there that may be laughing at what I wrote… that’s fine by me. All I can say is that I am writing it from my heart, and I want the whole world to know how proud I am of Joe and how hard he has worked to build Irongloves.

The End :-) Sleep tight!
