We will be open Thursday 12/24 up to about 4:00pm. We will be CLOSED Christmas day the 25th. For those of you scheduled for Thursday eve or Friday, give me a call if you would like to come in Thursday during the day.

All three of our fighters lost. They just didn’t stay busy enough. In the Amateurs it is all based on points; points for activity, points for connectivity. As always, it’s good experience for the fighter. Back to the drawing board, preparing for 2010.

Three of our guys got matched up. Phillip, Nick, & Anthony. Jared’s weight class didn’t get matched. Parking is tight, you will have to pay $5 for parking and $10 to get in. I won’t be there, but Joe will be looking for everyone. Hope to see you all there.

Here is how it goes… I take the guys to the weigh-ins in the morning. By about 11:00am we find out if our fighters got matched up. Then I first call Irongloves to let Joe & coaches know, then I head home to post it on the blog. If for some reason I don’t have time to post it on the blog, then feel free to call my cell phone around noon,. Sorry about that folks. I know many of you rushed home to sit through 2 hours of it. Contestant ‘Coach Mo’ came in with the worst, the lowest results. Very shocked. He only lost 79 or was it 81 pounds. Most of the people lost double and triple that.

Well at least Tony and Monique had a nice vacation. They went to Freddy Roach’s boxing club, The Wildcard.

What a wonderful day here in Tempe, Arizona. It rained all day… finally, we needed it so bad, the desert animals need it. We had several new members sign up today. Welcome aboard to all you and big thanks. Joe’s boxing class was a buzzing. And we got word that our fighters may get matched up this weekend.

Tonight, don’t forget to watch Tony on “The Biggest Loser” television show. Here in the valley it’s on NBC channel 12 at 7:00pm.

WILLIAMS VICTORY!
Paul Williams vs Sergio Martinez, Williams from USA, Martinez from Spain. Like Jim Lamley said, “What a way to finish the year”. It was an incredible non-stop fight, much like a Gatti & Ward war. Both Williams and Martinez were knocked down in the first round.

Sergio being the more powerful and accurate fighter, it was Paul that kept busier. Seriously, the fight could have gone either way, but like the commentators said, if it comes close, most likely it will go to the American fighter, Williams. Personally, I thought it should have been a tie, as one judge did have it as such.
