— Here are a few things going on at IG this week —

- Ab Video coming real soon. I should have it done this weekend. It will be only on lower abs. To be posted on YouTube.

- Today at 5:30, (Tues) Joe’s fighter Andrew will be sparring Chuck McGregor’s guy, his name is Mark. They sparred last Friday for the first time. Come on in to watch, it’s gonna be good!

- Carmen & Nico will be sparring this Friday at 4:00pm. First time in quite a while we have had females wanting to spar. Feel free to stop in to watch. Both are pure dynamite, exciting fighters.

- We have 6 fighters competing in the Central Boxing smoker on February 20th. Andrew, Nick, Parker, Phillip, Juan, & JR. Two fighters are Joe’s guys, 2 are Chris’s, 1 is Tony’s, & JR trains himself independently.

- Joe had 15 people in his Monday night class. It was a super hard class. Robin has lost 20lbs in 1 1/2 months from the classes. She’s getting married on March 20th. Way to go Robin!!!

- Our coach Chris Castaneda training is going good with Joe. Chris is already down to 175lbs. (lost 9 lbs so far), he plans to fight at 152. New/next phase of training will begin in 2 more weeks. He plans to fight in the Ringside tournament in Kansas. I think we have a total of 3 or 4 fighters competing in the Ringside. If (when) Chris wins, he plans to turn Pro.

This Sylvester Stallone video is soooo inspiring, and to think he was 60 years old when he made it. It was a clip he made for the ‘Contender’ Show.

Hey Members – I am looking for someone with a good set of abs, & no not Tony this time. I want to use one our members to make a YouTube video demonstrating one of Joe’s drills. Male or female, either is fine. Btw, you must have perfect push-up form. Please let me know. Thanks, Renene here.

In the 2nd round, Steve busted up his thumb on Daniel’s hard head. These two guys are monsters, Steve is 6’5″ & Daniel is 6’3″.  Steve has on long sleeve gray shirt, Daniel is red T-shirt. Daniel refers to his forehead as ‘The Iron Curtain’, a rock hard head.

Well Steve, we will see you next week after that thumb heals. Daniel is anxious to pick up where you guys left off.
Too bad the video missed the crucial injury part.

If you want that six pack then you gotta do the work!
Do you know what to do for your lower abs? We all know about crunches, sit-ups, & declines, but these 3 do not really isolate the lower abdominals. Lower abs are difficult to develop, this is why you must work them every time you do abs. Crunches alone will not develop lower abs for you.

Here are a few examples of some incredible Ab Exercises:
1) Reverse Crunches (on bench). Hold onto the bench (hands behind your head), bring knees to elbows by rocking your butt upward.
2) Hanging Leg Raises.
3) Roman Chair Leg Raises (with bent knees).
4) Seated Knee-ins (on side of bench). With bent knees.
5) Flat Bench Leg Raises (on very edge of bench). Straight legs up in the air, then down to parallel with pointed toes.
6) Floor Raises the “3 Stacker” (hands beneath butt); 1st = straight leg raises 12″ from floor, 2nd = straight legs high all the way up, 3rd = bent knees into chest.
7) Scissor Knee-ins (with big toes & heels touching) on floor, hands beneath butt, bring heels into stomach.

If you want, feel free to ask Renene for a demonstration.
