I seriously think that all the hype about Manny being distracted, is all just a marketing spoof. Otherwise, why else would they be showing how bad he looks against his sparring partners. I really think he will knock out Margarito, he is just too quick for slow-mo-garito.

Mike Tyson is being sued by the photographer who claims the former heavyweight champ beat him down last November … and he’s asking for a whopping $25 million.

As TMZ previously reported, Tyson was arrested after a run-in with a photographer at LAX. Tyson was initially booked for misdemeanor battery, but the L.A. City Attorney officially rejected the case, citing “insufficient evidence.”

According to the civil lawsuit, the photographer — Antonio Echavarria — claims Tyson attacked him, hit him with a closed left fist, and broke his camera. Echavarria also claims he suffered a concussion and strain to his spinal cord.

He’s asking for $25 million in damages.

Source: Leo Reyes/Bleacher Report–  Freddy Roach tell Manny Pacquiao to cut basketball and weekend trips!

LAS VEGAS - NOVEMBER 14: Manny Pacquiao celebrates his 12 round TKO victory against Miguel Cotto with trainer Freddy Roach during their WBO welterweight title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on November 14, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)Second to boxing, Manny Pacquiao loves to play basketball whenever his tight schedule permits. But in the final days of his training in Baguio City for his date with Antonio Margarito on November 13 he will have to set aside the game that he likes best outside of boxing.

Pacquiao’s coach Freddie Roach has finally spoken. “Tomorrow (today) is his last day playing basketball,” Roach Said.

Roach banned Pacquiao from playing basketball in the final days of his training in Baguio City before moving with his entourage to the Wild Card Gym in Los Angeles, California. The world’s best boxing trainer said Pacquiao should put an end to his weekend trip to Manila for his social functions.

Roach said long trips by car to Manila which take five to six hours are very tiring. Even if he sleeps inside the car as they negotiate the long and winding road down to the lowlands of Central Luzon onto to Metropolitan Manila.

On some occasions Pacquiao would skip morning jogs due to his frequent trips to Manila and his late night basketball games.

A little bit irked by constant questions about his weekend trips, the pound-for-pound king said he is still doing what is expected of him. Even if he is in Manila to grace some important occasions including the “10.10.10 Pasig River Run.” There he ran along with former president Fidel Ramos and other government officials and leaders of non-government organizations to raise funds for the rehabilitation of the heavily-polluted Pasig River.

“I’m not fooling around”. Pacquiao said. The Filipino boxer assured his fans saying, “Don’t be scared. It’s me who’s going to fight”.

One of Pacquiao’s advisers, Rex “Wakee” Salud said, ”Its going to be an easy fight for Manny Pacquiao judging from Margarito’s showing during his last fight against Roberto Garcia.”

Salud said it’s quite understandable for Pacquiao to act this way. “He’s the favorite, that’s why,” Salud added. “But I’m sure that he’ll turn it up in the last four in training. We all know Manny. He always knows what he’s doing.”

Pacquiao did some running yesterday but Roach seemed unhappy as he reduced their mitts action to just 12 rounds after doing 18 last week.

“I know he has that power inside waiting to be unleashed,” said Roach.

Pacquiao-Margarito Fight Prediction: Not Going Past 8 Rounds according to Amir Khan.
British fighter Amir Khan talks to Ronnie Nathanielsz of the Philippine Daily Inquirer at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, October 7, 2010.

MANILA, Philippines (1st UPDATE– British boxing star Amir Khan is certain that 7-division world champion Manny Pacquiao will claim his record 8th world title by overcoming Mexican Antonio Margarito on November 13.

“I’m totally behind Manny Pacquiao. I think Manny is the best fighter in the world,” Khan told Philippine Daily Inquirer’s sports journalist Ronnie Nathanielz upon his arrival at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday morning.

“Whoever you put in front of Manny Pacquiao, I think Manny will beat easily. He’s got the skill, he’s got the speed, he’s got the footwork. This fight I think Manny will stop him maybe in Round 8 or Round 9,” he said.

Even if he was reminded by Nathanielsz that Margarito is much bigger than Pacquiao, Khan insisted that the Filipino boxing icon will prevail.

“Manny is tougher. Manny is big and strong as well,” he insisted. “It’s like Manny is a nice guy outside the ring but when he gets in the ring, he’s an animal.”

Khan, the World Boxing Association (WBA) light welterweight king, arrived in Manila at 6:30 a.m. He is expected to proceed to Baguio City to join Pacquiao’s training camp.

“Manny’s always inviting me to the Philippines and it’s nice for me to come here to meet Manny, meet his people and meet the Filipinos as well,” he said.

Freddie Roach and Manny Pacquiao in a training session.

“I spoke to Freddie Roach and he did say me and Manny will be doing a little bit of sparring. We fight similar times. I fight 4 weeks after Manny. But it’s good to be here you know, just to share the ring with Manny Pacquiao and be working with Freddie Roach and Alex Ariza,” added Khan.

The 23-year-old Briton also has Roach as trainer and Ariza as conditioning coach.

“I’m gonna be building my conditioning early in the camp ‘cause my fight’s December 11,” he noted.

Pacquiao will fight Margarito for the vacant World Boxing Council (WBC) super welterweight belt at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas while Khan will face Argentine Marcos Maidana at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“That’s a big step for me. I’m gonna defend my WBA world title and hopefully go from there and unify the division and then maybe go up in weight and fight the best in the world,” he stated.

Khan was also confident that will be able to successfully defend his title even if Maidana is a “very tough” fighter.

“He seemed okay but I think I’ve got the skills to beat him. You know, hit, move, angles, speed. Freddie Roach is the best cornerman and the best trainer in the world so I think he’s gonna help me and give me a game plan to follow and hopefully take it from there.”

He then assured that his bout with Maidana will be “explosive.”
