Nader Won!!!

Nader won his first fight. He won by default because his opponent decided to quit before stepping in the ring. Some say he was dehydrated, some say he got nervous after seeing Nader warming up. We all would like to believe the later, cuz Nader did look good.

We had such a big turnout of Irongloves members. Thanks to all of you for coming. All of Nader’s sparring partners showed up as well. It was an awesome support team.

Nader was very bummed to be deprived of fighting. He wanted to earn the trophy he said. I think we will have him fight on August 28th.

Well, never the less, Nader brought home a trophy, he at least deserves it for all the super hard work he put into his training!

Nader is matched

Nader did get matched with a fighter from Salvation Army Boxing Club. The fights start at 1:00pm, not sure what time Nader will be fighting. Since he is a middleweight, he probably will fight around 3 or 4:00. Get there early just in case he does fight earlier.

Renene here… getting ready to head out to the weigh-ins. We will know shortly if Nader gets matched up. Supposedly there are 3 others in his weight class, 165 lbs. I will give you all an update around 11am if Nader will be fighting or not. Stay tuned!

AZ Amateur Fights tomorrow

USA Arizona State Boxing Championships are today, tomorrow, & if need be on Sunday. Scotty will be competing in the 132′s for the Championship Belt tomorrow, Saturday May 16. The fights start at 2pm. If you want to know exactly the time he will be fighting, feel free to call or text Renene’s cell: 480-326-4100

Location: McKellip’s Middle School, 325 E. McKellips Rd., Mesa, AZ
(just a hair West of Mesa Drive)
Admission: $10
If the parking lot is full, park at one of the gas stations on the corner & walk over.
The auditorium does have A/C, but, due to how small it is, it will probably be standing room only.

2010 AZ GOLDEN GLOVES

WHEN: MARCH 5, 6, 7, 2010 Friday, Saturday, Sunday

WHERE: JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ CAMPEONES, SW corner of Country Club and Southern

TIME: Begins at 7:00 pm on Friday and 2:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday

Boxers report to ring 1 hour prior to event each evening for Doctor’s check-up.

DIVISIONS: We will weigh in ages: Senior 15-16, Intermediate 13-14, Junior 11-12, Bantam 8-9-10. Automatic champions and JO automatic winners will not receive an award, only those that participate. Champions will advance to the Regional Tournament in Las Vegas on March 20 and 21.

WEIGH-INS: Julio Cesar Chavez Campeones, SW corner of Country Club and Southern on Friday at 7:00 am – 9:00 am. Matching begins immediately after weigh-ins.

On Saturday and Sunday for Open and Novice, Phoenix Boys Center 2116 W. Buckeye Rd. at 8:00 am – 10:00 am, unless otherwise specified. We reserve the right to make changes.

REGIONAL: Regional tournament is held in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 20 and 21. Coaches will be assigned by the Tournament Director and President.
