Unbeaten Canadian star Jean Pascal 21-0 14 ko’s ( who we all know did his training at Irongloves earlier this year ) has turned down the chance to fight for the WBO interim title in favour of a clash with England’s Carl Froch 23-0 19 ko’s. Pascal has recognised that Froch is “a good puncher with good skills” but believes he has the edge in speed. Promoters Yvon Michel and Mick Hennessy have already started negotiations for a fight in Nottingham England, Froch’s home town.

They are looking at the end of October or start of November. “I’ll be ready,” said Pascal. “I don’t care if it is England, Montreal or the US. I was in England and fought in front of 15,000 people and won the commonwealth gold medal against the hometown fighter Paul Smith. I’ll be ready no matter where it is. I haven’t had a fight in 6 months, but i’ve been in the gym ( we know where that was folks !!! ) I knew if i just kept working hard something would happen.” Pascal’s decision upset German promoters Universum, who had been preparing to match him with the WBO No.1 Karoly Balzsay for the interim belt.

Did anyone see the Abraham and Miranda fight yesterday June 21st? Abraham wins by KO. In the 4th round King Arthur Abraham knocked Miranda down 3 times. I was hoping Edison Miranda would win. I know that Miranda is a smart mouth, but I think he is the better boxer. Abraham fights like Tua, just jumps in swinging hard (sort of hay-maker style), boy, does he hit so hard, scary hard. Miranda hits hard with either punch, has great combinations, & his uppercut is deadly. Abraham being from Germany, the crowd was really booing him. At the end of the fight he spoke like a true gentleman, thanking the US for everything, winning the crowd over.

Miranda story is a hard one. His parents abandoned him to the streets at age 7. He fended for himself. Then a boxing promotor came along got him a lot of fights, but stole all his money. He ended up back on the streets dirt poor. He finally ended up with a great manager that took him like a son, treating him well & protecting his welfare.

These two fighters were an awesome match, they did major battle 2 years ago when Miranda broke Abraham’s jaw. I wish there would be a 3rd match, but now Abraham will be going after Kelly Pavlik. No way will he beat Pavlik. Pavlik will stop his wildness & make him box.
