—Words of wisdom to the amateur Boxer and to all those that wish to Fulfill—

The best way to be successful is learning how to train out of your comfort zone. You must listen to people who have walked before you. Keep an open mind to new types of training and different techniques, for you will never know it all in your boxing life.

Right from the beginning you have inside of you what it takes to become a successful fighter. All that you learn along the way shapes and prepares you for what is to come.

Embrace all that is positive, surround yourself with good people, you are judged by the company you keep. Don’t let anyone tear you down.

Remember, when it gets right down to it, it’s just you in the ring, with no time outs.

Character is built between the ropes, and by facing any fears. Always only compete for yourself and for no other reasons. Boxing is like life, it’s based on experiences and development, not trophies or bragging egos.

For those that go drinking tonight:
If you are going to stay out and hoot with the owls, then you gotta be able to get up and soar with the eagles!

I’m almost scared to put this photo up of Daniel Terreros a.k.a. “The Iron Curtain”. We sure don’t want to scare off any new members. But, I can’t resist… Daniel was so proud & wanted his wife to see his trophy. He is wearing a mouth-guard, that’s why his mouth looks so freaky.

Today is Tony’s 4 year anniversary with Irongloves. How fast does time goes by, man. Tony, thanks for 4 great years, thanks for your devotion. You are what Irongloves is all about… boxing, pride, & honor!!!

Robin has lost 20lbs so far at our boxing group classes. She lost the 20 in one month, that is a total of 8 classses. Also, she has lost 1 & 1/2″ on each side. She knows this because she just got measured for her wedding dress. She said it cost $120 for the dress alterations, but worth every penny of it. She has until March 20th, to lose her last 10 lbs.

The Boxing Group Class was a good one tonight. We had 14 people. We worked on cardiovascular. Monday’s was punch volumn.

Travis Walker is back at Irongloves starting today. >> Wikipedia

Don’t forget — The BOXING CLINIC is this Saturday at noon. It is FREE!!! Call or stop in if you need more info, or just show up with water & towel. To be taught by Joe.

“Battle Wounds of a Boxer”. Here is Scotty Bruce after a friendly sparring session. Actually, he had even more blood on him, I snapped the photo after he had already wiped quite a bit off. It looks like he has lipstick on, but that is actual blood, ugh!

Ask Scotty if he likes to spar & he’d jump right back in the ring. He’s a great fighter, scheduled to compete later this year.
