This Saturday March 13th at 1:00 will by my free clinic for all ‘Open Gym’ members. I will be teaching Left Hooks & Uppercuts. If you do not have ‘Open Gym’ membership, then pay just $10 to attend.

Here is a pretty good article on James Toney beginning his new MMA career. He still hasn’t begun to do any ground work. He just hired a boxing trainer, when you’d think he’d be emphasizing on some mat moves. Here is a cool MMA site, read about James Toney at the CagePotato.com Be sure to read some of the comments, pretty good ones. Maybe they should bring back Mark “The Hammer” Coleman. He & Toney would be a good match.

—Words of wisdom to the amateur Boxer and to all those that wish to Fulfill—

The best way to be successful is learning how to train out of your comfort zone. You must listen to people who have walked before you. Keep an open mind to new types of training and different techniques, for you will never know it all in your boxing life.

Right from the beginning you have inside of you what it takes to become a successful fighter. All that you learn along the way shapes and prepares you for what is to come.

Embrace all that is positive, surround yourself with good people, you are judged by the company you keep. Don’t let anyone tear you down.

Remember, when it gets right down to it, it’s just you in the ring, with no time outs.

Character is built between the ropes, and by facing any fears. Always only compete for yourself and for no other reasons. Boxing is like life, it’s based on experiences and development, not trophies or bragging egos.

Mills Lane honored by boxing writers. Remember him, he refereed the Tyson-Holyfield fight, when Mike bit off Evander’s ear.
